An educational and fun outdoor recreation activity for families is a trip to Washington, D.C. We went there last week, and let me tell you, there is alot of walking involved in seeing everything! You'll need a good pair of walking shoes and plenty of time, but it's well worth it.

Everyone should visit at least once to see history in the flesh so to speak. There is no end to what you can teach your children while strolling the Mall or visiting museums so for your next vacation, think about D.C.
